While we rely on the faithful donations of members for the work of ministry in our community and the operation of our church, this is not the primary reason for giving. Instead, we offer what we have to the work of God as an act of joy. God has given to us out of God's abundance. We cultivate a sense of abundance by giving to others.
We also know how important money, possessions, and time are in our society. They can be sources of anxiety for all of us. Jesus teaches us that when we give away a significant portion of what we have, we release the hold that greed, worry, and fear have on us. We make room, instead, for the freedom that comes from trusting in God.
Any time we use our resources thoughtfully and faithfully, it is a true offering to God. Giving to your Church community is only one among many faithful options for your offerings. We are honored if you feel that giving to First United should be part of your stewardship work. Here is how you can give:
Offerings are collected during our Sunday worship services. This includes both financial gifts placed in a collection plate, as well as non-perishable food gifts placed in a large basket in our entryway. We also find ways to celebrate the gifts of time and effort offered by people in our community throughout the year.
We also accept electronic donations through Zelle. The email account for sending gifts is:
